Professor Molly Shoichet is an internationally-renowned scholar whose work focuses on the use of polymers for medical regeneration. Professor Shoichet holds the NSERC Canada Research Chair in Tissue Engineering and is Professor of Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry at the University of Toronto. Her laboratory has numerous patents on drug delivery and scaffold design, and she has founded two spin-off companies from these discoveries.

Professor Shoichet’s prestigious distinctions include her selection as Ontario’s first Chief Scientist, as well as her selection as the North American laureate for the 2015 L’Oréal/UNESCO For Women in Science, NSERC’s Steacie Fellowship, Canada Council for the Arts’ Killam Research Fellowship and Canada’s Top 40 under 40. She holds the Order of Ontario and is the only member of Canada’s 3 National Academies: Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (Canadian Academy of Science), Canadian Academy of Engineering, and Canadian Academy of Health Science.
